Bagh Villas is a tented camp located on the edge of Kanha National Park. Twelve Shikar tents are laid out along the edge of a small lake created to catch all the rain water that falls on the 14 acres of land that has been transformed into a small oasis. In between jungle drives you can experience Yoga, Meditation and relaxing Spa Treatments.
Kanha National Park covers an area spanning 940sq kms. It is home to over a hundred tigers and is a lowland forest with a mixture of sal (Shorea robusta) and other mixed forest trees, interspersed with meadows. Its misty morning drives shower you with rays of light filtering down from the tall sal canopy that take your breath away. The park also has the rare Hard Ground , Sloth bear, the Indian Wild Dog and Gaur among the 22 species of mammals and over 300 species of birds and 120 species of butterflies, making it one of the most desirable Indian forests to visit. It is no wonder that Kipling was inspired to write the Jungle book from the forests of Kanha .
Visiting Kanha is not only a wildlife experience but an amazing cultural journey. Here time comes to a standstill. Villages are still magical with their mud walled houses and sloping tiled roofs. Fields are still ploughed using bullocks and paddy is put in by hand. The local art, craft and culture is as colourful and vibrant as the forest itself. Short bicycle rides can be organized to experience rural India in an unobtrusive way, interacting with local people and learning about their ways.
Bagh Villas offers you an experience you will never forget.
